I fell in love with this song immediately after hearing June Ululani Leite sing a rendition of it on a 78 rpm record from the 49th State Hawaii Record Company. Another great recording on 78 rpm was done by Alfred Apaka on Aku Recrds. The former is my all time favourite. Ululani Leithe has one thee most beautiful alto voices I've ever heard in Hawaiian music. Although this song does not contain one Hawaiian word some fondly reguard it as a Hawaiian song. This song I would categorize as Hapa Haole. Words and music are done by the phenomenal artist Jack Pitman. Recordings were done Andy Williams in 1959 as well as many others. Jack Pitman was a Canadian musician/songwriter, born in Regina, Saskatchewan. This was his biggest his song, which was first introduced by Bing Crosby in 1949.

U'i Loa! Ululani is my mommy! She will be thrilled to see this...it's one of 13 recordings she did before the age of 20. I love this song also...actually I love all her songs! Mahalo Nui Loa!
