@matts4290 Yeah, only some countys here in NC did that on their school buses. It wasn't a state mandated thing. I remember my home county (Lee) used to put an actual metal bar across the shifter over the "3" so you couldnt pull it down into the lower gears. The idea behind that was that some of the more dumber drivers wouldn't accidentally pull it into the lower gears and try to drive normally. I think there was a case where an engine blew a head because it was ran at high RPM's because of that.
