We the People are Atlas!

Sick and tired of being sick and tired but don't know what to do? Consider this... Do nothing!

So many of us realize that we're quickly coming to a place, that if something doesn't change soon, if something doesn't start to turn our way, the people's way, we're just never going to make it back to the road of potential prosperity and once we turn that corner, the American Dream will be lost to us, forever. The prospect of continuing down this road is unbearable! So what to do?

The politicians, the CEO's, the MSM, they're all so enamored with themselves and see us all, the people that give them reason for existing, as if we're nothing more then a footnote, easily taken for granted and we're suffering from the consequences of so much disregard. Time to remind them that without us, they are nothing and people are now ready to stand up and be counted!

So what to do?

Folks are using their dissatisfaction and energy to organize rallies, protests, marches... others are writing blogs, Tweeting, "facebooking", etc. and it's fantastic that people are getting out there and making an effort, making a difference!

Wisconsin showed us, that yes we can make a difference! The fact that they over took 2 long time republican seats in the face of all that money was phenomenal! I promise you that many behind the scenes, in both sides of the political spectrum and moneyed boardrooms, are sitting up and taking notice!

This isn't about politics or religion, right vs. left anymore. This is about money vs. people and I don't know about you but I'm sick and tired of seeing money valued over people!

Getting involved is definitely necessary if we're going to make an impact but if we really want to be seen and heard, we're going to have to get everyone's attention first. Rallies and protests are fantastic but we need to go bigger! We need to do... nothing!

My proposal? On 9/5/11, stay at home and do nothing. The purpose? To create such a deafening silence of nothing happening anywhere... no tires on roads, no cash registers opening in stores, no time clocks punched! In that silence, we can then ask those that are doing their damnedest to either ignore or crush us, "Can you hear us now?"

The only way to get the attention of those who consistently put money and profits before people, is to remind them that without people, without us agreeing to participate, they get nothing... no money, no profits, no votes, no nothing! Just for one day stay home, show them we mean business. Only once we have their attention, can we possibly move forward where we're can actually be heard and become a part of the conversation. If we don't shake things up, it will just get harder for "the American People".

Do you deserve to be heard? Do your children deserve a chance at a better tomorrow?

Lets see if we can take this "Do Nothing, Stay Home, Labor Day Strike" viral?

Do we have the power or do they?

For now... they do, because we abdicated ours for far too long and its time to correct that mistake, wouldn't you agree? It's time to take back our power! The days of sitting back and letting someone else figure it all out, are over. No one is going to be able to fix this mess for you, for me or most importantly for our kids. We all had a part in making this our new "normal" and its going to take all of us to fix it.

Listen people, you can make all the excuses in the world of why it wont work, why it can't make a difference or why you can't (or wont) do it but at the end of the day, this is all on us!

We took our eyes off the ball for far too long and we're reaping the rewards for our apathy and inattention! You okay with the status quo hoarding the American Dream? You can either send the message, "Sure, go right ahead, I don't mind living in misery" or "HELL NO THEY CAN'T"? Choice is yours, have "faith" that things will get better on their own with out you or you can join me in making a difference!

On 9/5/11, I'm calling in sick, staying home and doing nothing! How about you?

We can only fail if we never try at all! Its just one day! Isn't one day away from your routine worth all the potential it has to make a difference in your life?

  • Some people have stated that they don't like that its called a "strike"...

Okay then... we can call it the "Great American Sick Out". If you are sick of the status quo screwing over the middle class and the poor... stay home this Labor Day. How about that, better?

  • They can only continue to harm the middle class and the poor if we continue to actively participate in their rigged system. If we're going to have the smallest hope of surviving, we're going to have to push back and remind them that without us willing to participate, they are nothing!

"It's only class warfare when we fight back"!

  • And, by the way, The Dream Act originated with John McCain and several other Republicans. They came up with the idea, Obama got behind it so naturally all the Republicans were immediately against it.

  • I keep waiting...and waiting...and waiting for the Democratic leaders in DC to HEAR us. This is just one small step that i will be joining.

As long as people like Grover Norquist are allowed to even have a voice in the dialog, people like the Koch brothers will actually be at the head and foot of the table.

    Time for change!

  • I love my Country therefore I'm an "American Patriot" and don't affiliate with any "Tea Party" whether patriot, nation, express or whatever fake name they give themselves. They've become nothing more than "Corporate" front groups set in motion to protect their Corporate Overloads. Sad little people protesting against their own self interest. Actually I feel bad for them.

  • I'm "ALL" in. Time to get their f**king attention, Period. They're "not" getting the message. Where are the f**king jobs? We mean decent paying jobs.

  • Wonderful to see that at least you can SPELL the F word. After reading that inept attempt to make a point by trying to be the loudest in the room, maybe you need to calm down and realize that everyone is entitled to their opinion. Frankly, no one cares whether you are this or that, but your language and spelling are atrocious! So much for de-funding our public schools....
