"Stardust" is an American popular song composed in 1927 by Hoagy Carmichael with lyrics added in 1929 by Mitchell Parish. Originally titled "Star Dust", Carmichael first recorded the song at the Gennett Records studio in Richmond, Indiana. The song, "a song about a song about love", played in an idiosyncratic melody in medium tempo, became an American standard, and is considered one of the most recorded songs of the 20th century, with over 1,500 total recordings. In 2004, Carmichael's original 1927 recording of the song was one of 50 recordings chosen by the Library of Congress to be added to the National Recording Registry.

Video including lyrics commemorates the past and present members of the group Pied Pipers: John Huddleston, Chuck Lowry, Hal Hopper, Bud Hervey, George Tait, Woody Newbury, Dick Whittinghill, Jo Stafford, Lou Hust, John Huddleson, George Tait, Billy Wilson, Tommy Dorsey & His Orchestra, Frank Sinatra, Clark Yocum, June Hutton, Louanne Hogan, Lee Gotch, Jana Ecklund, Alan Davies, Sue Allen, Jeanne McManus, Ralph Brewster, Nancy Knorr, Christ Sanders, Kevin Kennard & Don Lucas!

And now the purple dusk of twilight time
Steals across the meadows of my heart
High up in the sky the little stars climb
Always reminding me that we're apart

You wander down the lane and far away
Leaving me a song that will not die
Love is now the stardust of yesterday
The music of the years gone by

Sometimes I wonder why I spend
The lonely night dreaming of a song
The melody haunts my reverie
And I am once again with you
When our love was new
And each kiss an inspiration
But that was long ago
Now my consolation
Is in the stardust of a song

Beside a garden wall
When stars are bright
You are in my arms
The nightingale tells his fairy tale
of paradise where roses grew
Though I dream in vain
In my heart it will remain
My stardust melody
The memory of love's refrain
