  • Yes, I've seen it, and again recently. My film isn't animated at all though, this is fan art.

  • Robert Danova from Phantom of the Opera On Ice. That music inspired one of the key concepts in the book.

  • read post below first...

Some smoke in the woods would really add to the atmosphere and the makeup itself is brilliant. The swords being used look plastic and the fights are unconvincing. I am also yet to see any evidence of Kevin McNally starring in this film.

Sorry to criticise but I hope you take some of this on board as I am trying to be constructive.

  • Smoke? Why? Goblins don't start fires.

You won't see Kevin in shots until we get shooting on the actual film. I have evidence for investors, everyone else will have to wait. ;P

  • No offence jaq, but this video looks like it was done by someone completely wasted, its really trippy :P. That being said I think that appearing on Dragons' Den was a brave and smart move and I hope you are selling more books as a result to this publicity.

Unfortunately the trailer/teaser looks amateur, although I could not do a better job I think the bit with the cave in the background was too clearly a green screen and the forest looks like a public woods

    Continued on post above

  • As far as I know the animator doesn't get wasted, but he's an artist, so a trippy mindset comes naturally.

The trailer looks amateur because it was done by amateurs. That's where money makes all the difference, to pay the professionals.

No the forest isn't public, although that would be a natural place to find goblins.

  • Wtf was that?

  • What i was going to say based on that old cartoon was that although it used film and animation which slightly disrupted continuity from a purist cartoon perspective was that if the whole film had that same effect all the way through, people would accept it on that basis..That was probably 30 years old,and a modernhome computer can apply those effects quite easily to regular film stored on quality digital format. The combined outcome or effect is more surreal than film or animation alone.

  • You know that before Peter Jackson made the lord of the rings trilogy, there was an animation film i remember seeing in the eighties(albeit it was not completed due to money or time)and Peters first cult film "bad taste" is a classic example of what can be done with a budget..That lord of the rings cartoon if you check it out uses real actors superimposed with the cartoon.(i think it was a solution to the time factors of frame by frame animation)...

  • Well you learn something new every day, even ten months after you talked about it :P

  • cool cartoon, its other worldly like that 1973 fantastic planet cartoon. Who is the music?

  • That was a northern soul number by al wilson "take me in sighed the snake"

  • that was cool, after reading the book... I know exactly what is happening too :)

  • who did that song? It was pretty sick!
