Adult Children Of Alcoholics

Some of you may know me from my other channel RiaRoseKnows which is for meditation, astral projection and understanding the oneness about life.

This channel will be dedicated to assisting those out there who have lived or are living in dysfunctional families. I come from a family where alcholism and food addiction are prominent. I will share with you some of my experiences as a child and as an adult and what ways I got over certain issues. This is intended to provide comfort and knowledge and to not replace any form of therapy or medical treatment nor is it intended to treat or diagnose.

Please use the information wisely and take what you need from it and throw away what you do not. I strongly urge those of you out there who have been suffering for a while to seek therapy or to seek a 12 Step program intended for ACOA's in your area.

Thank you! This is great. I am currently living with active alcoholic parents and I am in AA. 19 days today. It is such a battle and I cannot wait until I am financially stable enough to move out. I need tools to deal with living with them until I am able to move out. I am going to subscribe to your channel, thanks!

I can relate sooo much to this... in my country there is only AA and AL-ALANON.

There is also ALATEEN but.. because of what you mention, depression, anxiety, and apathy (in my case) i never went. I am 25 now, and i deeply regret not going.

Hopefully i'll find the inner strenght to go to thrapy and search for an ACOA around here.

Interesting. You named a lot of things that I can identify with, including having an addict for a parent. I have a lot of the symptoms you talked about, I have just never heard of ACOA. I have never sought treatment and I do not believe in medicating for mental obstacles - I am sure there are exceptions, but for the most part no. I do a lot of seld diagnosing and am really aware of myself. Anyway, I will be following your channel. Hope you follow through with it. I also love astral projection.
