@1blastman interesting...for some reason i thought Son was later...now i can hear where Taj gots some influence in there...some of my ladies took the ol rocket in the pocket as dual even triple entendre/meanings if you catch my drift ;-) thanx 4 the reference though

@jazzkid66 Sounds good on acoustic also, check out Son House's videos on youtube. Son may have been the first to use "Da Socket Slide". But Lowell always had that "Rocket Socket in his Pocket" and ready to slide . :o)
-
@1blastman funny boy...i assume he was playin slide w a sears/roebuck 11.16 but you already knew that right? right........if you have high action and heavy strings the 'heavy metal' (no pun intended) slaps nice on an electric
-
Man, I like this dude. " till she got it in the A" haha
-
So really, Lowell George played 11/16 Craftsmen socket guitar, not slide guitar. :o)
-
'China White' on the 'Hoy Hoy' album.
-
Heh, and called his singing style 'white boy got the woo-woos.'
-

Lowell's voice just brings me to my knees. Nobody can create a groove like he could...pure. pure soulfulness. The guy had alot of warmth & patience too. Talent like his comes only once in a lifetime. There'll never be another.
