I respect your choice but not your facts " insanecaine" . Earth is billions of years old ( God's measure vs. man's measure ). Shroud of Turin , ELS codes, archeology, etc; confirm New and Old testament . You sound like you are another agnostic cavitating in the cosmic ocean .

The shroud of turin is a medieval fake, and that is not unusual for the time.
As for the bible codes those show clearly the lack of understanding of probability of those who promote it.

You sound like you are another believer so desperate to believe that you will cling to any twig no matter how fake or insubstantial to support your beliefs.

Neil deGrasse Tyson is a excellent choice to follow Carl Sagan . Science and religion are very compatible . God is in control despite man's ego .

I don't think so. The earth was NOT made in 6 days. There is no evidence that the Earth is < 10,000 years old. There is NO evidence that a deity exists. There is NO evidence that Jesus lived and came back to life after dying. There is NO evidence that the miracles are anything more than fictitious. No evidence.

I am equally fond of Carl Sagan. I think it is unrealistic to say his understanding of the universe was second to none. It is saddening that he made the same mistake as a lot of scientists of today, namely that science and belief in god are incompatible. It remains wonderful to have had such a spokesman for everything that is knowledge. I own, and throroughly enjoyed, Cosmos, and I hope Carl is followed by many such advocates for human knowledge.

Science and 'god' are incompatible.
Because 'god' is not a well defined or rational concept.. there is no definition of 'god' which can be examined or tested.
And as such it fails.

Carl Sagan is so great. His understanding of the universe was second to no one and yet he remained humble as if he understood only a fraction of what there is to possibly know about it.

I also love the way he has a dig about the name of planet URANUS later in the series - how can you not like a guy who understands so much but still breaks out an arse joke in his masterpiece work!! Brilliant!

Why do videos like this don't have 7 billion views? Why does some numnuma singing guy have over 10 million?

There are things about this world that make you go want to grab someone on the street and ask: "Did you know this?!"
When they answer that they don't care, another need arises - to beat their face to their senses.
