It was such a great idea that when the ITV network decided not to play the ident of the production company before the programme for Central to play it as the end cap. Anglia, Scottish and Yorkshire also did this for a while.
That's so cool when you have the news from Central's original coverage area (East and West Midlands) plus the new (in '89) South Midlands coverage area.
It was'nt fantastic for us at the time.We could only pick up Ridge Hill on our side of Dudley,and had to watch news from Abingdon,despite being only 10 miles from Birmingham!!!
West is the first to go into the endcap.
