Wildfire 2011 'Fast and ferocious'

A brushfire right across the street. it started by a wire that sparked and landed on the dry grass with 50 mph winds it didnt take long til the whole neighborhood was there in terror. It spread fast but no one got hurt...except the grass

@FanOfZeppelin Over here in Australia a couple of 14 or 34 appliances would knock down that kind of fire in about 2 minutes

Much ado over nothing - both by the residents and the fire department - couple of garden hoses could knock that down no problem.
I'd hate to see what you people do out here in Southern CA where we get 40 foot high flames driven by 60+ mph winds in zero humidity and hundred degree temperatures. Jeez.
