  • It's electrical discharge. The VDG Generator builds up an electrical charge that wants to find the quickest possible way to ground itself, which just so happened to be the metal of the bunsen burner. The spark ignited the burner and then traveled through to the closest positive charge.

    It's like scruffing your feet and touching a doorknob only there's fuel in the way.
