To succeed in its mission of education, Kamehameha Schools is dependent on the income from its Hawai'i land assets. However, Kamehameha Schools also recognizes that prudent management of its resources is important for itself and the community. For this reason, Royal Hawaiian Center's recent modernization removed retail space to make room for additional landscaping and cultural demonstrations - a controversial and unprecedented decision.
