Galaga - Single Ship Perfect Challenge Stages

Perfects on all the Challenge Stages in Galaga with a single ship this time.

This video's just for fun. Beating Galaga's Challenge Stages with a single ship isn't a worthwhile exercise for its own sake - you'd probably be better off honing your skills in the regular stages and work on staying alive longer and making sure you're not in a position of having to complete Challenge Stages with a single ship very often.

However, practicing with one ship does focus you on timing, positioning and shooting speed - all three become extremely critical with a single ship, where as with dual ships, you can usually get away with 2 out of the 3. Any improvement you make with a single ship will be magnified with dual ships.


My strategy isn't much different than with dual ships - see that video for a detailed description. Positioning is pretty much the same with a little more moving around to compensate for the decreased firepower.

Stage 11 (Challenge #3) and 15 (#4) are the easiest - you should be able to get them just about every time.

Stage 27 (#7) is probably next - you just need a really fast shooting hand for that one.

Stage 3 (#1), Stage 7 (#2), Stage 19 (#5) and Stage 31 (#8) are all about equally tricky - the timing on flipping the Bosses blue and then finishing them off is tough.

Stage 23 (#7) is by far the hardest as your positioning and timing must be pixel perfect to get the bosses as they crisscross above you.
