  • @carebonez I believe it is, yes.

  • May God bless your hands!

  • He's an excellent drummer, a good teacher, and entertaining lecturer and a nice man.

I took a class with him and had lunch with him too a few years ago.

I'm glad that people are enjoying the clips but I wish they saw the important parts of what is shown....

  • Is this type of drum halal? Just curious.

  • @shogunemperor

    check amazon.com

or dude... if you have netflix..... you can get a lot of dvds from drummers. i've gotten all my shit there.

  • Mr. Karim- please post more of your music-I have been studying Tabla for a few years and don't have to tell you how much dedication it takes to play like you do.

I live in the U.S. and believe music appreciation and study especially of World Music and culture should be required in all schools. Music is the universal language of the human spirit and I believe has the power to break the barriers of ignorance and hate that sadly exist today. If you like Doumbek, try looking up Zakir Hussein.

  • Hey, this a "maqsum " rythm, isn't it?

  • Karim is really an amazing musician and one of the best teachers I've had the opportunity to study with. His deep understanding of Arabic culture as well as music ANd dance brings together the essential elements to teaching and thus learning about this complex and beautiful music.

  • dune text dune text dune text

  • i have friends that look retarded playing the drum too lol
