  • Tofu rocks. I used to steal whole rows of diced pieces off my mom's cutting board when she made soup.

  • Tofu is delicious marinated in just soy sauce, sugar, red pepper flakes, black pepper, chopped green onions and minced garlic! You get the salty, with sweet, and a kick. serve with rice and oh boy that's all you need if you're a vegetarian. ^_^

  • @SimuLord I would pay real money (if I had any) to see you eat that pie if it was made from chicken instead of tofu (this coming from an unabashed meat-lover)

  • @SimuLord Ya...I'd like to see you make that chocolate pie recipe of Alton's with Chicken... :-P I've gotten people who swore they'd never EVER eat tofu to eat that pie...just make sure you are using the right type of tofu! Anything other than silken (TYPE, not brand!), then the pie does not work.

The only thing I change from his recipe is to _thoroughly_ drain the tofu with lots of paper towels, use a regular graham cracker pie shell (instead of the oreo one) and cool for 8 hours instead of 2.

  • There's nothing tofu does that chicken breast doesn't do about fifty times better. Soy is wretched stuff.

  • Is it just me, or does AB say [soui] and not just [soi]? Its like it's a two syllable word when he's expounding on the various "sow-ee" products.

  • Looooove, looooove looooove his' Trekkie-ness.

  • @KuroiandNoukon Genetically modified foods are one that have been modified by injecting genes from animals, viruses and bacteria into the cells nucleus to produce certain traits (in Monsanto's case, a resistance to Round-Up pesticide). Health risks include allergies, new diseases, toxicity, reproductive issues, organ damage, etc.

  • notice how he puts the emphasis on the second syllable of tofu, trying to preserve the japanese pronounciation of an americanized japanese food

  • @Talondas Can you explain to us what does it mean by genetically modified food and does it really cause more harm than good? Just flinging words around doesn't make you right.
