For 42 years underground tastes were popular in America. So popular that they are identified with one man: Elvis Aron Presley. For Elvis is not just the King of Rock 'n' Roll, he is the King of Pop Culture.

This is a teaser for what may be a full length documentary. This project needs investors to become a reality! Please contact JMM at guerrillamonster.com

  • I am in a middle of a meditative study on this very subject myself. I am agreeing with many of your views, wheaticus. We killed him; Tom Parker killed him. LONG LIVE THE KING!

  • Actually, JMM is the mastermind behind RAFOAPC. As indicated in the video's description, I'm just the editor. Thank you for commenting.

  • lol...well, I for one hope that study of the rise and fall of American Pop Culture is explored in more depth...like they say, "Even a man who is pure in heart, and says his prayers by night may become a wolf when the wolfbane blooms and the autumn moon is bright"...live long and prosper!

  • Very interesting.

  • if you can't make sense or say anything that does make sense just keep still, and britney and michael look at them now, they are both nuts and do not even say they are not on drugs and you,

  • make sense ok, you have no idea what the heck you are talking about, if not for elvis briteny would not have had a chance to evev get a start and look at her now, she is nuts, let the real singer rest in peace with comparing him with a digbat

  • elvis's high point was fuckin around in a jump suit lol the king aint elvis. briteney spears is more king than elvis. MJ king of pop 4 eva

  • ...We buried ourselves in electronica to feign sophistication and progress, but popular music and its associated industries, ever since (except for a small amount of it) became one large pile of horse shit, and remains that way today. Even the bump of grunge attempted to unshackle us from being haunted by Elvis but this failed too.

  • Pop culture has suffered from 'cultural guilt' since the death of the King, thus the arc of which you speak extends beyond his life. After an initial flurry of 'setting free' of pop music in the late 70s and early 80s, it soon disintegrated into the hyper-realism of the 80s, even more pronounced than 1950s/60s kitsch (i.e. flouros, big hair, ties and suits, clean cut musicians)...

  • Hope this eventually comes to fruition... it's too fascinating to not make some sort of project from it.

    Hi, Wheat!

  • We laugh at Elvis, his caricature, some literally slander his name, to avoid our own embarassment at not having done something to save him.

  • we are all responsible for ourselves..you learn that when you become a man or woman..
