I've got an uncle that shines. I got tough one day when I was about 14 and asked him for some of it. He laughed and poured me a glass full. He told me to sip it since I'd never had it before, but like I said, I was feelin tough. I took it all in a couple big gulps. Problem is I was sittin down when I did it. About ten minutes later I stood up...next thing I remember I was waking up in the floor right where I had stood up. It dropped me like a rock. Good ol' Tennessee mountain dew!

if you ask for moonshine in kentucky you'll raise eyebrows, and you ain't gonna get any, we don't call it that, its called crick{creek} water, tractor fuel, and other names, but if you ask for shine, you look real suspicious
I know a guy up in the mountains name of O.C. made moonshine in a silver plated still. It was the smoothest shine you ever tasted. Y'all drank a cup and still felt kindly sober, but you couldn't stand but for fallin' down, and couldn't talk for nothin' as you had no control of your tongue. He kept the recipe a secret. The 1st time I tasted it we was about to go onstage at a festival. He give me a shot and I went out and about 3 songs into the set I just stood there with my banjer, couldn't move!

jimmy martin is the king of bluegrass and pioneer of the great sound and talent of the bluegrass music. I wish i could have see him in person. I came close several times, but never made it even though lester flatt was a cousin and i'm parcial to his music. Jimmy Martin will alway's remain king and a icon of bluegrass music and to the martin family ya'll remain a very talented family of bluegrass lonesome sound, in our hearts. MAY HIS MUSIC RING ON and ON FOR GENERATIONS TO COME !
