Jackie's cover of the old Ben E. King hit was always a favorite with the audience, whether at the old Broom and Stone club or the Sapphire or the other clubs he filled every time he appeared in Toronto — and even at my birthday party.

  • There is nothing on this singer in Wikipedia. is he still around? Google is also likewise uninformitive

  • @TheMacgrurry You'll probably get as much info on Jackie by reading the comments here at YouTube as anywhere. Just check all the songs posted. If you have a specific question, email me and I'll try to help you out.

  • @GerryLincoln I missed your airing of the show. Where can we view a repeat?

  • @rasputin63 It wasn't a video presentation. It was aired on CBC FM radio and I think on Sirius Satellite (Canada). You might check their websites in the archives. If you can't find it you can email me and I'll hook you up with an mp3 of the show.

  • FINALLY! The Jackie Shane radio Special is set to air.

Heres the heads up I received from Elaine Banks who produced this special feature.

    Hi everyone,

Just wanted to let you know that my Jackie Shane documentary has finally been scheduled to air! Here are the details (feel free to spread the word!):

I Got Mine: The Story of Jackie Shane

    CBC Radio Inside the Music

Sunday, Feb 28th: 3:00 pm EST on Radio 2; and 9:00 pm EST on Radio 1 and on Sirius Satellite 137

    Produced by Elaine Banks

  • Great version. Is this from the Caravan 45, or unreleased tape?

  • This is from the "Live at the Sapphire" album.

I really wish Jackie would have gone into a studio and recorded this song as a single. I always thought it had the potential to be another hit.
