So, Rachel Maddow tells everyone what everyone already knows? What a smart woman, oh wait no she's pretty damn stupid if she thinks any of this is news.
Democrats and Republicans are both for big government in their own way, this hasn't been news. It's what you want it to be big for.
And she also lies though, Republicans are more for State run things, they have never pushed for the Federal government to dictate social issues, except for stopping what Democrats are trying to push.

This has always been the quandary. The left wants big government control over the economy, but limited government on social issues. Conservatives want limited government when it comes to the economy and big government on social issues.

@TripleSpeak Compared to most places, the Nordic countries have humongous governments, but those governments have been put it place by a fight to empower the bottom 98%. If you can tame the state and make it do the true democratic bidding of the large majority of the population, the wage working lower and middle classes, you'll achieve great equality. You'll achieve less crime also. Income inequality is the single greatest factor that disintegrates a society.
