  • i thought i'd heard ALL of bing's best recordings, but i've never heard this one. sounds like bing in the very early 30's or even '29 bing.

  • I remember Benny Hill singing a tidbit of this song with two of his comedian comrades. They played 3 escorts from an escort service.

  • Göttlich!!!!

  • This is an early recording by Bing, maybe late 20's-early 30's.Bing sang it again in the 1948 Emperor's Waltz, both times was sensual ,and beautiful as usual.

  • The music itself without the lyrics, was used for the opening credits of Dinner At Eight(1933).

  • ok i saw the movie yesterday its from the movie the emperor waltz.

This song comes from a German movie of the same title in 1929 with Marlene Dietrich whose character is a married woman who is wooed by the singer. Check out Fritz Wunderlich's version. I believe Richard Tauber was the original artist for this song from the movie.

  • Big does this very well. I love his singing, but this got me thinking about where I heard this first. I heard it by th Comedian Harmonists. in German. I am neither native English speaking nor German speaking but I speak both languages and I must say this is a song that must be sung in German. I have leaned singing my self and

I know what a difference a language can do **********

  • I've only heard (an orchestral version of) this on The Emporers waltz.. both as a song and an overture, along with The Kiss In Your eyes, it's a lovely soundtrack

  • It is from the movie A CONNECTICUT YANKEE IN KING ARTHUR'S COURT.
