  • that was surprisingly funny, even for you XD

as always, you brought up an interesting subject.

i enjoy my 2/3 finger playing anyways.

never seemed to really find the use of the hook, even while playing Jamerson stuff.

glad to see your BTB back! though it seems to have a darker tone than i remembered....

  • @TheBassMan533 Interesting you commented on the darker tone, I had the electronics ripped out and now it's all passive.

  • @havic5

How is that working out for you?

I enjoy the versatility of my BTB mainly (I think) thanks to the Bartolini actives.

never thought of doing that though...

I'd be interested in hearing it, and of course the music you'll be making with it.

    ^^

  • @TheBassMan533 It's working out great, actually. I had it done because the active EQ in my particular model just didn't sound that great - sure, I could get a bunch of tones, but there was really only one setting that sounded any good to me. Now that it's all passive I don't have as powerful tone-shaping, but the one basic P-bassish tone I do get does well for most circumstances.

Well, don't you already have your Mexican(?) P-Bass for a P-Bass sound?

just interested in what you were looking for in doing it ^^.

hope I didn't annoy the hell out of you by now XP.

  • Great lesson, thanks!

  • Oh, and freaking awesome Ibanez bass you got there!

  • Mistake: I meant to say, I often get more wear on my index finger.

  • Interesting observations on one-finger vs. two-finger playing, fellow bassist. It does give some food for thought for us tone snobs. Personally, I tend to think I'm a two-finger player, but since I often get a bigger callus on my index finger, I might be a 1-and-a-1/2-finger player (i.e. using the index more than the middle)... if most other bassists don't do that, it might give me a more unique sound... or not.

Great video. It should have more views.
