I am not into the fancy schmancy shape, I dig the clean shape of ours best for our room. Customize yours however you wish. There are how-to's on customizing the shape all over, just look around. xo, Meg

I JUST helped my buddy with this exact problem by creating an L-shaped headboard. It will be a video, but I'll get him to send me a pic in the meantime to show you. xo, Meg

Thanks for the tutorial. Need a little more help. First -a few questions: How far off the floor did you hang it? maybe a better question - how far below the (top) mattress? Did you attach the bed frame to the headboard? Why did you cut the foam into pieces? I have a 60" x 80" x 3" memory foam mattress and would like to make a huge headboard. Can I do that without cutting the mattress into pieces? Any suggestions on making it this huge and keeping it secure? Thicker or thinner plywood? Thanks!!!

This is a full size bed, but we added a couple of inches so it would also work for a queen. You just need to measure the width of your mattress and decide how much wider you want the headboard.

Not bad not my style though. I'm more rock and roll but I'll think of a way to make it work for me. Great video.
