  • @goodsz15 I'm pretty sure pink's the correct color. My mom has a doll with a bunch of costumes from her movies, and this one is pink.

  • Right before the fade out, she looks down to make sure she's on her mark. What a pro.

  • they should make a modern version of shirley temple i go see that in a heart beat cuz i love shirley temple

  • @Natushabby I COULDNT AGREE MORE

  • love this and love shirley temple but I don't like the whole black faces thing and how comical they make the background look

  • Shirley was asked to wear black face during this song she refused even after Bo Jangles tried to tell it was ok its only part of acting. She replied only that she refused to anything that might be mean to Uncle Billy.Bo Jangles taught her most of the dances in this movie.

  • @nmaster13 Pre September and the Yankees were playing in NY. Mel Wigle went under the name of Mr. Frank as a baseball player. Some of the kids playing in the stadium had been arrested. Was all of their daddies baseball players? don't know. Mel did not throw the game as anticipated perhaps. My guess would be either 1950 or 1952 as their was a Jehovah's witness convention one year at the stadium. Perhaps under the FBI file name of Sybil Jason. It is so long ago.

  • @iriswigle I never knew Shirley was arrested. Where did you find that out, I'd like to read about it

  • There is no doubt about it; during that period of time racism was almost everywhere! However, Shirley Temple and Frank Morgan and the cast are simply great in this picture.

  • It was NOT the 30's. When Shirley had been arrested several times between 1950-1957, the studios decided to say that it was "the thirties" to improve relationships with her Royal cousins in England. If this black thing had not happened, Shirley would never have known what a deep cut racism could be. Bo Jangles hid with her under verandas, in the rain, just to help her save up money for an airline ticket. Blacks kept Shirley out of jail after child star arrests in LA under "prostitution" charges
