AMD unveils 3GHz Phenom desktop quadcore

Since early this morning I'm attending AMD's Analyst day at the company's headquarters in Sunnyvale, CA. So far I was surprised by Rick Bergman's (the graphics guy in the picture!) demo of a PC with a 3GHz Phenom desktop quadcore and three graphics cards.

Although the demo showed that the 3GHz quad-core actually exists, it does little to quelch worries of delays of the 3GHz quad-core server chip dubbed "Barcelona". "The product is stable at 3GHz [...] If the desktop version ships in Q4, you can be sure the server version will ship sometimes later", confirmed Henri Richard, AMD's chief marketing and sales.

@LacosteShirtman if you were smart...im not a fan boy..ive done over 6 months of research.and intels hex core smashes amds hex...just cuz its moer expencive doesnt mean its shit...and btw no intel came out with the first quad you idiot....it was the core2 quad Q6600...qitch i have and it performs amazingly....then amd finalyl looked at them quads and they made their first phenom..and it had that bug remember???..it took the clock down to like 3% from stock......do some research instead..fag

@POPCORN454545 Then you can probably explain why the new AMD Hexacore eats the intel hexacore, also Amd was first with quad cores ;). Amd will probably be faster with quantum processing too. Also I had a intel core i7 that performed worse in games than my AMD Phenom 555 x2 3,2 ghz. Also don't get mad because I'm dissing intel. its not like you're in the development crew you fanboy.

@LacosteShirtman not really..go do your research...intelds 1156 and 1366 socket has more pins than the am3 socket..am3 has 921 pins...so bassicly the more pisn you got..the more data you can move through..faster..to get processed..go do research b4 you say amds faster than intel..becuz its not intels oc's better..you get 12 cores with the intel hexa core...so you can handle more multi tasking...and intel runs more stable in the ocing process..plz go to research b4 running your mouth off

@POPCORN454545 AMD is way faster than intel, its just that intel have better endurance. AMD's new TB processors with 6 cores shatters the intel hexacores.
