I post this because Katie Couric like so many Americans are ignorant trying to whitewash and Americanize Islam with her Muslim Cosby Show idea. Islam is a very violent religion especially with especially against gays and women. Even 90% of Muslims haven’t read the Qu’ran, possibly because they are forbidden to read.

@chrismacciuss I think the best and shortest answer for you would be how women are treated in the United States. There was a bill that was proposed where not even women who might die due to pregnancy are able to get an abortion. Don't compare religions and say that one is better. If you feel so strongly about the issue of women's status abroad, you should blame the country (not the religion seeing as there is no doctrine in the Quran that says to beat women) and do something about it.
