  • anglophone rubbish! it´s so pretentious to link the sex pistols to all this in such a linear manner, it may have had the aesthetic influence but the way they´ve let themselves become a commodity on its own (through mclaren himself!) condemns them (name of the 90s tour: filthy lucre!).

documentarists should´ve tried to explore the dialogue with lefebvre and their rupture with the theorist later on, reveals a lot more about the movement...

  • Good history lesson on something most know nothing about. It's a shame Vaneigem wasn't mentioned.

  • @kingnat2 I don't think it's pure capitalism to get paid for your work, wether you like it or not recording, writing or performing music is hard work just as baking bread or something. The Punks didn't invent this world we're all born into and money is the only way to survive in this world. Sad but true.

  • @thaincrediblemaier yea but SP are basically pure Capitalism. They weren't even that fucking good.

  • @felmagalhaes

Do you know why everybody is hating on punk and specially the Sex Pistols?

Because you are all AFRAID of what they stand for. Because they despised evrything you stand for. If you find it offensive that they are linked to Situationism, you kind of missed the point. Situationism isn't a religious cult, and punk isn't too. Both of them are not indefeasible. Both Movements wanted to destroy doctrines and taboos. They certainly didn't want to be a sacrilege.

  • what's up with the swastikas at 2:28???????

    fuck that

  • @jeffreyhsykes Yea cheers cool man

  • @MrSexpistols1 That is what punk was originally about. Being yourself. True punk was already dead by the time the bollocks album was out and the pistols actually took the piss out of everyone copying them and all ending up looking the same because it was about individuality.

  • @OrpheusIsThe1 Thanks for that information.

  • @Diosibundo As will all movements against the establishment. In the case of the sex pistols. They weren't only co-opted they became what they were originally fighting against punk/pop is disposable the pistols limped on for years and became part of the established order thus becoming the old guard. All such movements are totally futile anD hypocritical because they KNOW THAT IN THE END THEY WLL BECOME PART OF THE MONSTER NO MATTER WHAT THEY START OFF SAYING. Just look at the Icelandic Best Party

  • @jeffreyhsykes It was only Jamie Reid who made the artwork for the Pistols. He actually had a working relationship with them for about 2 or 3 years.

  • blah blah blah bored with all this punk is you just be you
