We had an AH-64 Apache Helicopter land and then take-off from the campus softball field for ROTC Training Weekend. I'm sorry the video is so long as i didn't realize how long at first they would take to actually lift off after doing their Preflight checklist. I also apologize for the loud screaming and yelling, as there were about 100-200 people around me at the time it was taking off as well as it was very exciting to be about 50 feet or less from the actual heli as it max thrusted its engines. Enjoy the video!!

  • you liberal obama ass kissin commies better love this , its why you have freedom

  • @raulrusboy hahahaha ones flying over now headin back to The Hill

  • If one of those rotor blades fell off it could make chop suey of the entire crowd :]

  • @T1MCPT We've still got a bunch of Legacy Tads at Fort Rucker, as well as Block I's, with and without FCR... Same with the Block 2...

  • It's not just an Apache, it was an AH-64D Apache Longbow. Probably a block II aircraft, that's why the Longbow FCR wasn't above the rotors.

And it's MTADS, TADS has been phased out, really only remains on the Alpha model. People find it interesting because it can see you perfectly, 2 miles away, in pitch black.

Sucks the camera wasn't better quality, and all the kids screaming instead of appreciating what a 4000shp flying machine sounds like. Still gets 5 stars from me.

  • such a sexy aircraft

  • why do u find the TADS so interesting?

  • half video just blah blah blah! wtf!

  • 8:41 that guy just CAME!

  • The answer to his question..."what goes next to the missile pods?" Most commonly the rails can mount 4 Hellfire missiles each. hahah rolf at them screaming!!! :D
