These old photographs of my hometown Dundee, Scotland have no name because i'm not too sure where most of them are located but decided to upload them and share them with you all. After adding this classic tune to accompany the pictures, i really think it was worthwhile, i hope you agree folks...   • I was also unable to recognise most of the areas pictured here. I wonder if the photos are actually all Dundee views?

    I'm sure the Dundee Library would be interested in these rare photos.

  • The first picture is Lady Mary's Fair which was around Yeoman Shore. One or two are of The Vaults, the area behind the old Town House which was demolished to allow the building of the Caird Hall and City Square. Thanks for posting these marvellous photographs!

  • 49secs and repeated at 2.08....looking up barrack street fae the howff gate, next tae the army recruitment office...only the building on the far right remains :-)

  • Loved the photo of St, John's in Albert Street. My dad was the Minister there from 1949 till the 1980's. Wonderful memories. Thank you.

  • @hunga224---1:14 St mathews church broty ferry road--there was a cooperage works behind it,commonly known as the barley,it was on st mathew street,also known as mathews brae.

    1:16 Caledon shipyard ,outside the blacksmiths shop.

  • 2:23 Caledon shipyard, working on the tank top of a ship--notice the cloth safety helmets,which were compulsary in those days.
