The first picture is Lady Mary's Fair which was around Yeoman Shore. One or two are of The Vaults, the area behind the old Town House which was demolished to allow the building of the Caird Hall and City Square. Thanks for posting these marvellous photographs!

49secs and repeated at 2.08....looking up barrack street fae the howff gate, next tae the army recruitment office...only the building on the far right remains :-)

Loved the photo of St, John's in Albert Street. My dad was the Minister there from 1949 till the 1980's. Wonderful memories. Thank you.

2:23 Caledon shipyard, working on the tank top of a ship--notice the cloth safety helmets,which were compulsary in those days.

I was also unable to recognise most of the areas pictured here. I wonder if the photos are actually all Dundee views?
I'm sure the Dundee Library would be interested in these rare photos.
