Sorry, but why do you expect a wine with under 10 percent alcohol to be on the dry side? They are low on alcolol because of the residual sugar from the grapes. This is typical of sweet wines, especially of the mosel rieslings.
In Germany, we drink the dry stuff vom Pfalz or Rheinhessen. The sweet stuff is old fashioned.
