  • Anytime GeorgeWashingtonX :) Those were great times in music! Lorrie D...

  • Medic, I used to go to Planet Blue all the time. Bill Bradshaw is your Dad? Too cool. Linda Pool used to work there, if I remeber correctly. I don't have her contact info, but she may have pics. Unfortunatly I never took pics there I don't think. Lorrie D :)

  • Holy Christ, someone remembers Planet Blue?! I painted a huge mural of Siouxsie in there- LOVED that place. In fact, some asshole ran into me head-on there on 42nd St on 3/22/88 while I was headed over there to do some more work. Still have all the vinyl and the Les Paul knockoff I bought from there. Wish I'd thought to take pics- I can still see it in my mind's eye, including the one recording room where my friend Vicky painted the room with her tits... no lie. :) God, I miss those days.

  • @Lorrie2u

I know this is a random question, but do you remember or anyone remember what the manager's name was at cafe loco, back in the mid to late 80's...I think Lee? He was shorter (5'8) and had dark hair...I am seeking him...thx!

  • Blind Venetians,,, one you missed. You hooked into the "Hardcore Norfolk" project? Debuted this weekend. God, my heart broke when the Thompsons sold the ODU strip... Cogans and Kingshead were my favorite. Damnit! Good times.

  • Oh god all that music was horrible...I recorded at Planet Blue myself but we self destructed before we ever got on stage anywhere but some BS open mike at Cogans...F those Cogan brothers as well. Almost glad I was locked up back then and then joined the Army to get the F away..........SGBlackie on soundclick

  • @Lorrie2u remember the Peppermint Club, the Boathouse, the Bayou.. even the Abyss used to book some mid-level rock tours and one-hit wonders on weeknights (Hole, Deadeye Dick, etc) back in the early & mid 90s. I'm a little young to remember the local clubs in the late 80s, but I remember the local spots around 93, 94, and local groups like the CandySnatchers & Sea of Souls(I remember how hard FM99 worked to get those guys over).. but they were competing in a market with AIC, Pearl Jam,etc. peace

  • Lorrie, hi.. I appreciate u mentioning the Kings Head.. It was nice they used let under 21 kids in there, and I got to see some really decent bands there when I was a teenager (Ween & Greg Ginn from Black Flag etc) It was a cool spot..

a Tidewater place that no one else seems to remember is, the Insect Club over in Hampton. They used to book mid-level national punk tours back in the early-mid 90s & they had that cool facade with the spider climbing out of it's web. peace

  • Does anyone have any pics of planet blue?
