Anyone who just eats meat/cheese and thinks they are performing Atkins, is not paying attention, and is doing their body an injustice of the good things that could be happening.

That's pretty damn healthy if you ask me, the remainder of your diet and a large part of your calories come from protein and fats.Over time protein is converted into sugars and thus ATP, so it is stored in your body much like other carbs. Fat on the other hand is produced into ketones by your liver, and excess is not stored, but excreted through your normal bodily functions. Pick up a copy of Dr Atkins New Diet Revolution (2002 edition), and the science will be explained.

Note that eating freely of bacon and many other things is not what it says. It says you may eat freely of fats and proteins, until you are satisfied. You may not eat freely of eggs as they contain carbs, and over 5 eggs would mean you could not get 75% of your carbs from the appropriate veggies. Doing some reading will actually show you that 75% of your carbs come from veggies.

can u eat all day what u want, or just the 3 meals and 2 snacks? i´vé been eating like alla day, I mean everytime I´m hungry.. eggs or bacon. In the atkins web page it says: "you can eat freely .. eggs, bacon,..... etc or what does "freely" mean then?

Veggies are categorized in carbs so either Dr. Atkins was scientifically incorrect or stupid. Possibly both. They have natural sugars.

Read the book before you even think it is all meat. The diet requires a large volume of veggies! In fact it is more focused on veggies than it is on meat.

Here is a simple way to look at it for everyone...
Atkins is a way of eating that changes your bodies approach towards fuel for living. Atkins is a ketogenic diet which makes you use fat for fuel. Carbs are part of your diet, they are just controlled - limited to the threshold your body can handle while remaining in ketosis.

Veggies contain unrefined carbohydrates, fiber, nutrients etc. He actually requires you to consume most of your carbs in a day from veggies. Read the book before you make an ignorant response.
The point of a controlled carb diet is to balance the good with the bad. The point of a ketogenic diet is to change your source of energy from carbohydrates to fat.
