Had this done a week ago. Trust me, this is my 3rd time hernia repair. One on the left and right in 83,Right again in 92 with mesh and this is the 3rd time for the right.(burst around screen) The only discomfort is the left over gas in my abdomen but i will take that over stitches any day. While in there he took pics before and after and also looked over my left side. Try that with the old way. You wont be sorry and you will be on your feet with a better outlook soon.Don't put it off anymore.
I had both: Open surgery 7 years ago, on the right side, at the age of 38. It went perfectly fine, local anaesthesia only. I suffered a bit from the scar, but nothing very painful. And the other one...yesterday, laparoscopic. So far so good but my belly hurts more than the first time. Anyway, it is very impressive to see, but it goes very smooth, and you recover amazingly fast. You do not decide laparoscopic or not, the surgeon does.
i develope this for walking too much and i been told not to worry that could live like a normal person but i am worried it can get complicated in the future i havent ask for a second opinion can you guys tell me how much cost this operation ?? thank you
Didn't have the cathater no but was put out. I was terrified as i hadn't had any sort of surgery before, other people told me not to worry and it's not as bad as you think. That doesn't help at the time but they were right. My hospital was great, in at 13.00, in theatre for 14.00, lamped out 15 mins later and woken just after 16.15. Was sore the next day and it was painful but now 7 weeks later i feel as good as new. Please try not to worry, get back 2 me if u want to ask me anything
