Boys & Girls - This was my latest impulse buy - a custom Black Magic Crystal Axis by Music Man / Ernie Ball. The track behind my narration are the clean tones of this guitar. Being played through the Line 6 Spider Valve MK2

  • Actually I don't get the fuss about background music - I totally liked it and it was not too loud! Cool axe - no wonder why nonstop-smoking-crazy-chimney chose it as his magic signature wand! Rock ON!

  • @incantatis Thx incantatis. I actually thought it was a nice touch :-) ... but apparently it was too loud for some. Interestingly enough, I did drop the volume, but not enough. I felt a bit beat-up on the comments left here :-( ... so I appreciate your comment! Thx!!

  • @incantatis I like that a lot. In fact - I have been experimenting ... new lighting, background tracks. In fact, at the end of the video, I said 'I hope you like the entertainment' :-) ... so I appreciate your words of wisdom mor ethan you know!! Thanks incantatis! Haev a great weekend, and ROCK ON!!!

  • no disrespect ttk but please cut the background music or at least take it down a notch...

  • @0winther gotcha. I usually don't do background music, but I hear ya. I'll keep that in mind nex time I do background music. Thx.

  • @DB73093 - You need to play one and see why yourself. IMO, they are the single best guitars on the planet. I own the John Petrucci model and a new Axis w/FR trem. These guitars are so easy to play and the sounds they create are tonal nirvana. Go to your local dealer and see for yourself.

  • Man I really appreciate all that you do tone king. But I have to admit I don't always like the tones you dial up. I will credit this one to the line 6 spidervalve. I had the mk1 and got rid obit quick. Thanks for the demo anyways tho I have a musicman myself with a sugar black finish and a roasted neck. Best guitar I have played yet!! Anyways thanks for the demo. Keep em' coming!

  • The BGM was jarring at first, but I got used to it after a couple minutes.

Maybe having a simple backing track to accompany the clean playing and turning down the BGM would help.

Props for trying something new though!! TTK FTW!!

  • Music Man use the Gotoh Floyd Rose as do Suhr

It has similar features to the Ibanez Edge but rounded saddles and a brilliant arm holder...It still has the locking bridge posts and angled back fine tuners which are awesome, it's also a really nice and smooth bridge...

The original was the EVH, music man had the rights for it so rebranded it the axis, the Wolfgangs were made by Peavy, now the EVH brand, they had a more elongated upper horn, ed owns the designs for the body on those.

  • @1HeartnSoul - Play one and you'll find out. They are like nothing else you probably have touched when it comes to a guitar. I'll sum it up for you in two words "craftsmanship & playability"

  • This guitar is a monster!!

  • lol, you kinda remind me of Peter Griffin

  • I'd really like a music man axis but they're way out of my budget. Can you tell me why they're so much?

  • sweet piece dude

  • That looks soooooo sweet, I really want an Axis myself....One of the sweetest sounding rock guitars around....Happy for you, man! :D

  • My son has this exact guitar on layaway right now at Guitar Center! (Well, not the EXACT same guitar... but one that looks exactly like it!) He said it is one of the most comfortable guitars he has played, and he felt right at home with it in about 5 minutes. He likes the more slender neck, too. Thanks for such a great review. Helps us to know that Josh is getting a great guitar!
