thats beautiful but it sounded like a lawnmower at the start

Hang on just to clarify something...
The comment with this video kinda sounds as though it was written for a much older video.
therefore is it right, still that this video shows only 25% of what the finished clock will look like? I can't even imagine it.

forgive me KISS philosophy, but what exactly is it you intend to accomplish with all this complexity?
-

Nope not there yet. We took a 6 month break to work on another astronomical clock in my collection and in March we will reconvene. I estimate we have another two to three years to go. Sorry, can't go any faster!

That was a motocycle in the parking lot. The clock itself is quite silent, except, of course when striking the quarters. The bells are not yet shown here. Check my YouTube page for later videos with the bells.

Yes, these are older videos. Go to my YouTube site to see the updated videos. I would say what you see here is about 50 to 60%. Here is the 'main frame' of the clock. All of the complications, the astronomical functions, the dials and all of the mechanisms to make them work are not shown, and in fact have yet to be done. But the clock is now within its metal, decorative frame, not a set of plastic, temporary frames.

Something to entertain and fascinate - KISS has nothing to do with it! However, the clock will be a precision instrument. Go to my channel to see updated videos, these are nearly two years old.

You should familiarize yourself with the project. While whimsy is certainly a part of the project, there is a lot of serious horology going on, not to mention on display are the skills of one of the most gifted clockmakers alive - no it's not me, he's employed by me. I did the design and he is building my dream. You can learn more about the project and remontoire on my website

That's great! It's a start to an inquiring mind. One of my earliest memories is trying to make a bridge out of tinker toys. Them opening up every toy I got to see what was inside and how it worked. So he's off to a good start.
