that would probably be true on a larger hill, or when starting from the top. But this was a first lesson to try to get us just a foot or two off the ground. It worked well when we had some wind.

...I assume the instructor had student run
with nose up to allow a very quick and
ready flare, but I think it's still best to
start with proper nose attitude; habit of
holding nose too high will cause popping
the nose, or worse, an immediate stall.

It was a windless day for the most part. The nose up helped.

whoever was teaching this guy was not a very good teacher u never tell a person nose up when running down the hill.u must have the lightest touch when launching if anything u must b slightly pulled in and keep running and the glider will lift u off the ground never ever push out or jump into the air

I have to disagree. There was very little wind. Nose down puts you in the ground, I don't know where you get that logic.
