Whatever process the universe emerged from lies beyond our ability to define it in time or space. It is so abstract and outside of our current understanding that we will have to discover a new conceptual vocabulary to describe it. But we know it won't be a person like jehovah, Zeus or Odin. The gods emerged from human culture, and reflect the tribal patriarchs that were important to early civilizations.
