Ok, Uli and Malmsteen cant be compared. You have the master(uli) and the apprentice(malmsteen) i mean come on! I like malmsteen's shredding but if u take the shredding from malmsteen he is no one!! Uli is not a player that tries to make his playing outshine from the rest, he is a player that makes the whole piece sound badass and that is what really matters. In my opinion Uli is the best along with Michael Schenker.

@CloudsBeyond I agree with most of your points about Yngwie but I believe he deserves more credit than just being a shredder. Sure, most of his songs are pure shred, no one can deny. But Yngwie has some songs that do show some emotion such as Blue, Blackstar, Evil Eye, and some others. I think Yngwie has some good compositional skills, it's just that he doesn't implement them in the best ways possible.

Go play Yngwie to serious classical musicians or professors in music they'll tell you nice technique, terrible music & compositional skill & unmelodic note heavy. Yngwie is a Stunt guitar player his main stunt being playing fast he has technical skill of course but is NOT nor ever will be a serious musician or composer.
