The sound is amazing. i thought it was the record before looking up and noticing it was a live performance which i did not know happened.
-
I really wish they would tour a new album and/or the Tweez record
-
first note is like a punch to the mouth

i wasn't expecting them to be so heavy. They sound more like Isis than Godspeed You! Black Emperor, which is what I was expecting when I heard the words "pioneering post-rock act" attatched to them.

I WAS THERE

definately. albini recorded it, so you can expect the drums to be really good - he's got recording drums and making them really raw and powerful down really well, with microphone placing and stuff. as for the guitars, GREAT stuff. very thick. kind of reminds me of the sound of Songs About Fucking's guitars - another albini deal.

Spiderland is so beautiful. This is the best song off Tweez. It doesn't touch anything on Spiderland.

Yeah, I've been dying to learn what effects were used on Tweez. It's one of the best sounding guitar records ever, as far as towers of industrial screeching noise go. The drums also sound good on that album. They sound like industrial-style drum machines, but arent. Great album overall.

re the stage presence issue - not all bands are performing monkeys. My Bloody Valentine had comments about this during their current tour. and the vocals were mixed too low, apparently.
sorry, point missed. listen to the fucking music! if you want performance go and watch some cock-rockers or Madonna or some similar drivel.
silly people.
