If you want it to start right up, then pump the gas a time or two before you ever crank on it. The colder it is the more pumps or shots of fuel it needs. I have been running without chokes for over 30 years and mine will start right up without cranking very much at all. My last Nova was my only car and it ran 11.60's, building a new combo now for a new car and should go some low 11's.

doing a swap from one nova to the other this coming week .350 w/ 4spd trans .oh and swappin rears for the posi . never did it before.looking forward to it .

I agree, chokes are for pussies lol, my choke came off in my 78 monte carlo, just takes a little feathering

Great looking car. I have a manual choke on my 76, don't know if they are for pussies though, at -30 out they help lol. Going to be good looking when its done.
