READ PLEASE ^^
Hello !!
it's been a while i know .. got a lot of things on my mind and a lot of work too ...
i'm working also on a special 1000 subscribers video, hope u will like it, it's taking some time to have everything ready for the filming :p
So i noticed on youtube, a lot of "artists" who are copying existing pictures, usually from well know people like singers, actors etc.
i think it's pretty useless to be a "photocopy" artist and try to be as close as possible as a photography can be to the real model. But for pratice it could be nice. I just wanted to now if i was able to do something "realistic" without ANY references at all
this is how it turned, in 40 minutes (maybe a bit less), no references at all, no sketch or idea planned before.
there a lot of anatomy mistakes (eyesbrows not the same, eyes not the same, weird mouth) but actually it's very hard to draw a face from that angle (face view ? is it how u say it in english ? comparing to 3/4 view or something like that) so yes, when u have "face view" u need to very precise, but in fact it does not really matter if the face is not totally symetric because none of us is perfectly symetric, so i guess these smal mistakes make her look even more real ;)
I'm going to improve this in another drawing (maybe something more complex than a small portrait) to see if i can really make it REAL looking !
I started to ask to myself, when i saw that experimental piece : "Who's this girl ?" i guess i'm on the right track, realistic way of drawing is not only about real human features, it's about identity.
I want to improve that, i want to draw people, not only characters
Anyway, Hope u like the video !! it's very short i know, some parts are missing because i totally mess up the filming, my camera was overexposed (previous settings when i took pictures by night) and i forgot to check so 50% of the drawing was filmed with too much light !
i will do better light set up on the next video ^^
Bye everyone, take care :)
how to blend to make shades?? i can now draw faces *face view* from my head with good proportions but i fail to make good shades and that make my drawing doesnt look natural :( any advices? thanks

@camophlage2009 i'm using smudging tools now but i also use a lot of tissue paper or simply use your fingers haha ! the problem with finger is that they getting dirty and i tend to put them on the drawing and it's looks messy after that :( the best for me is tissue paper or toilet paper :p

@stage0funny Omg, really ??? I would have never guessed..
Oh wait, it says SPEED DRAWING which means its a drawing video that was "SPED" up!
Go look up its meaning before making a fool out of yourself, appreciate the art(which is freaking amazing!) and delete this EPIC FAIL of a comment.

@RinSayurita you're sweet :) it IS a speed drawing as long as it takes less than one hour in real time, this is how artists have classified the terms of "speed drawing"
since this one took me 40 mins it is a speed drawing (usually i spend 10 hours on a drawing) but it's also sped up for the video because i don't think people will look at a 40 mins video ! :)

@RinSayurita but if you really want a speed drawing like you think it was, in 2 mins, i can do it, this can be another art challenge :p
