Laxmikanth-Pyarelal may have used the tune 'Oh hayya' in Dayavaan as it is a remake of Nayagan with 'Nila athu vanathu mele'.......But in 'Tehzaab' their song 'so gaya ye jahan' sounds a bit like 'keladi kanmani'?
@praveenkumarav Even the great Rahman could not escape IR effect. Note the charanams of inji iduppazhagi (devarmagan) and sunta hai mera khuda (pukar). A couple of lines are exactly the same. IR influenced every Indian music composer after him.
I get the movie name and song from youtube to search the mp3 songs. I copy it to my phone and keep listening. oruwebsite has good collection. Do you know anyother site. Praveen?
Hi Praveen, good that I got someone who knows both Tamil and Hindi music well. I am a non tamilian guy but love Tamil music (dont understand the language though). Anand Milind has lifted Chandni Raat hai (movie?), O Priya priya (Dil) which were not remakes. Kalaakar has music by Kalyanji Anandji and to be very frank I find the Hindi version is better than the Tamil one :). Laxmikant Pyarelal have their own creativity and hardly copy IR.
............Funny thing is that the above song was sung by SPB and Chitra !!! . In short, there is no music director in India who was able to escape from IR effect (may be ARR is a slight exception), like the choreographers cant do with Michael Jackson's moves !
@praveenkumarav Yes you are right

R.D.Burman,S.D.Burman,M.S.Viswanathan all are really music composers.
But Ilayaraja is a genius .

@manchupuvvu what I feel about ARR and IR music is, ARR's music comes from his brain, while IR's from heart. this is a personal opinion, no offence

@ sripatsripat
thanks for correcting me. Kalakaar is by Kalyanji-Anandji
I think 'Chandni raat hai' is from Sallu's Baagi.....'O priya priya' was also a lift....
I personally feel both 'Ilayanila' and 'Neele neele' are good, but as I started hearing tamil version first, I like it the most !..............
