@dlmagoo Western Carolina University has a full out rhythm section (bass, guitar, drumset and synthesizer) and is one of, if not the, best college marching bands in the country. Although I agree you shouldn't have a rhythm section unless you have a full out front ensemble. I feel like those students could have been put to better use on vibraphone, timpani, and maybe even a second marimba. Even the drumset parts could've been done better with an auxilary player. Just my opinion though. ~Chris

As a band mom that year I will say that you guys did a great job. You guys should be proud. Now speaking as a Lee Sr player and not afraid to flaunt it ( LoL) I will say 2 things. 1) when in the world did they add electric guitars and full drum sets to a marching band? Really? That is why you have jazz bands. 2) For being a new and small band you guys did very well. Could have stood to be crisper and woodwinds louder but that comes w practice and experience. Wasn't my boy (RJ) good??
