The intrepid operator tries to zap across the Spectrum display Rocky style to tune rapidly to SSB signals. The combination of the display freezing and collapsing during fast tuning makes it almost impossible.
For me the frequency display area is too small and loses too much definition on expansion.

  • what sort of computer are you running, and is your video card driver up to date? In my experiance, out of date video drivers, and slower computers will result in poor performance on powersdr.

If the software is showing more than about 10-15% CPU usage, you will notice drop outs from time to time.

  • I am sure you are right. Its a 2.6Ghz computer but only standard on board video card. Thing is KGKSDR and Rocky perform superbly.

There are other things too that make me personally prefer to use those rather than Flex Radio.

  • Sorry it is a demo of Flex Radio software with Softrock. I find that the the display freezes collapses and when I try to tune rapidly. The video shows the rather subtle visual effect. There IS no audio when you are tuning using this software, I considered it hardly worth my trouble adding sound which is merly a few plops.

  • no audio

  • SDR home-brew transceiver KIT watch this video: f3hhHaSkowo and also this one: VXkEr4ZzebA

  • I agree with that, I think Rocky and such are deifnatly better suited for the softrocks. While it is nice that powersdr works with them, that software is really being developed for the Flexradio hardware.

  • Poor image and NO sound!! so What this video is posted for??
