Hard-drive + Cotton + CD --- Flying CD! xD

We found another use for an old hard-drive which didn't work. :P

We opened an old hard-drive, attached one end of a long piece of cotton to the spindle, and tied a CD to the other end of the cotton.

We were upstairs, and throw the CD out of the window... then got the hard-drive to spin up! Flying CD~!
7 times!
It shatters on the 7th time. =D

Sorry about the unusually low video quality - this was done back in August 2006, before I had my firewire card for decent video.

(We didn't waste a good hard-drive. The one we used had finally got so bad it couldn't even do anything apart from spin up, read either end of the disk and spin down a few seconds later.

The CDs were blank, but were of a brand whose disks are often unable be read anyway.

The cotton was good though...)
