The Radeon 5570 1 GB can be overclocked quite nicely if you feel like doing it, even in a low profile case like mine. I'm able to go from the stock speeds of 650 core / 900 memory, to 800+ core / 1100 memory without any real problems in MSI's Afterburner, provided you configure the CFG file to allow you to bypass ATi's driver clock speed limits and put the graphics cards fan speed to %100 to prevent overheating. why is SHADER CLOCK unselected?
Cant we oc that?
Actually im using an ati msi R6770 and i cant oc my shader clock using this software, but i could when i used EVGA Precision to oc my 9500gt :D

@kingsmeat23 ATi/AMD graphics cards run the same clock speed across the entire graphics processor. On Nvidia cards there are separate clock domains for the shader array and the rest of the GPU (the texture units and ROPs). Depending on the driver and the graphics card, you might not be able to set the shader and GPU clocks separately at all, and increasing one will increase the other accordingly with the given ratio, be it 1:2 or 2:5, depending on the Geforce series.

@mobius1aic It's a design decision Nvidia made with their graphics, probably to better leverage the GFLOPS capability in relation to the rest of the chip. They saw that future graphics were going to be more shader bound than ever, and probably concluded that it would be more cost effective (of course) per chip/wafer to just have really fast shader units instead of doubling the number of them on chip, resulting in a large and expensive GPU that sucked even more power than already.

lol fan on auto. shouldn't it be manual or something?

@germas369 Manual at 100% would be recommended, yes.

I downloaded msi Afterburner hoping to overclock my ATI Radeon HD 5570 to a point at which Battlefield 3 would run well, but my gpu wouldnt melt. Even at maximum clocking though (Core Clock of 700 and Memory Clock of 550) my gpu temp stays below 55C even with Battlefield running (sloppily) in 1080p. Is there any way i can further increase my maximum clock MHz?

@jkleli You didn't read the complete video description :|
And 550 for the memory? Is it a DDR2 version?
The 5570 also has no chance in hell running BF3 at 1080p, and won't be very good even at 720p.
