tell the drummer to stay in the pocket on that song..
i know he doesnt realize it.. but alot of times we play the drums and we dont think what everyone else is hearing...
when im in the audience i wanna hear the words and enjoy the spirit, and not a mess in the music, there is time for nice fills, but trying to groove out and jam during the song isnt good, gotta be wise about how we play, God deserves the best from us, but that doesnt mean we have to make a mess of the song.
