Long ago I thought how great it would sound to have a record of her singing these songs. This is better than I could've imagined. God bless you, ma'am.

Kathy says she couldn't have done this music right when she was 20 . . . well, I can testify that she's being overly modest. As an 18 year old kid with a harmonica in my pocket I wandered past a porch in Morgantown, WV, 1977. Lacking the good sense to know any better, I asked if I could play along, "why yes, please" the honey voiced singer said. That was the first of many sessions on Kathy's porch before she left town to give Nashville a try. Her generosity left a lasting impression on that kid.

I can't wait for new music from Kathy Mattea. I enjoy her music more than any other musician I've ever heard. I started listening to her in the early '90s after seeing her at a friends place watching a Grammy performance. I'd never even heard of her before.I can't imagine not listening to her music.There is something about her voice that just is transformative, and not just to me.I'd love to see her in concert sometime.
