Pay no heed to rich, there always has to be a critic. I found your post charming and interesting. My male eclectus Darwin wants a girlfriend in the worst way. Due to career issues, I cannot introduce another bird into the flock, much less have babies to deal with. Please keep the vids coming.

Cute and all, I must say, not the best way to introduce each other.
As you said, “I wanted to get her first site of him on video".
So the priority is not for the parrot then, being her?
There might be something that was missed prior to this video, like an actual greeting and bonding process.
If not, this is not the way to introduce highly intelligent birds like Eclectus to each other, nor any bird for that matter!

@RichTheBlack I'm not sure what you are criticizing us for Rich. We brought Pally into HER territory, and SHE loves green guys. We have had two other males. Pally had a temporary sleep cage until his huge Kings cage arrived, so he got a chance to acclimate on his own. It's not like we just threw them into a flight together and said "you guys work it out" BTW, they are not paired up (Pally is not interested in redheads).

Eclectus Parrots. Native to the south pacific from the northern part of Australia up to New Guinea. Now where else in the world. and no other kind that has male and female so differently colored.

Bella is beautiful! Do Eclectuses make good pets? Are they moody? Do they bite often?

@alnizia Yes and no. Parrots "do not make good pets". Their owners "make them good pets". Eclectus are exceptionally good if raised, weaned and fledged correctly. I wouldn't call them "moody". Their hormone cycles and bonding issues are not as great as others. Believe or not, a half-wild breeder is less likely to bite you, than a spoiled "pet".
