One of the stops during our KF917 holiday was the Fortnum & Mason department store in London. It is known internationally for its high quality goods and food hall. Every hour, four-foot high models of William Fortnum and Hugh Mason emerge and bow to each other, with chimes and 18th century-style music playing in the background. this clock was part of the store's refurb in 1964 by the Weston Family of Canada.

  • Yes, I noticed that after I posted it. It was installed by the Weston family. I think. Thanks. I'll try and update that info.

  • The F&M clock is a work of art & proof that the Swiss are not the only ones who can make fine clocks! Everything inside Fortnum & Masons is luxurious quality & superb service.

  • @galloway6204 LOL Scotch Egg? On the Leslieviller?

  • Yes the clock is not original. It is from the 1900's.

  • @gooddarkjedi oh i know that and i work in a menswear shop with a similar very British history to fortnum and mason which is just around the corner but all i'm saying is that manners and politeness are not a western nor a british invention and in other parts of the world to act like that is rude. in lots of african countries for example it is much more polite to speak very loud and be gestural and emotional so that people know you are honest and not talking about them. different but the same :D

  • @blingwood4 well. when usa got independet, the americans where not that difrent of their lanuage and customs to british.

  • Thumbs Up if Scotch Egg sent you here

  • oh very british haha idiot the rest of the world can be polite too. lovely shop though
