El delantero mexicano Carlos Vela se estrenó como goleador del Arsenal de Inglaterra, al conseguir un "hat trick" en la goleada de los "Gunners" 10-2 ante el cuadro austriaco Burgenland XI. Vela, quien inició como titular en el cuadro del francés Arsene Wenger por segundo partido consecutivo, se despachó con tres anotaciones, a los minutos 23, 33 y 52, sus primeras dianas con la camiseta del conjunto londinense. Además del mexicano, el danés Nicklas Bendtner aportó cuatro goles (14, 19, 30 y 37), Wilshere anotó dos (1 y 65, desde el punto penal) y Theo Walcott cerró la cuenta al 69. Por los locales descontó Michael Artner (73) y Junuz Foric (90). El mexicano disputó todo el encuentro ante el modesto cuadro austriaco, en el Sonnenseestadion ante poco más de tres mil aficionados, dentro del tercer duelo amistoso de Arsenal en su pretemporada, en la cual marcha invicto con dos triunfos y un empate. Con el marcador 3-0 en favor de la visita, Vela se estrenó como goleador tras realizar un desborde por el sector derecho y culminar con un disparo a la esquina, antes de cumplirse los primeros 25 minutos del encuentro. La segunda anotación del mexicano llegó con un potente disparo cruzado, que representó el sexto tanto de la causa londinense, siete minutos después de haber firmado su primera anotación. En la segunda parte, Vela completó el triplete al empujar el balón al fondo de la portería. En su próximo encuentro, el cuadro del francés Wenger se medirá el miércoles en el estadio Gottlieb-Daimler ante el Stuttgart de Alemania, de los mexicanos Ricardo Osorio y Pável Pardo.

If you've never liked Eboue as a player, how can you firstly say he's gone down the pan, if, by all accounts, you never rated/liked him as a player in the first place? Doesn't make sense, mate.

And I know Sagna's a better right back than Eboue, but what's wrong with having two world class full backs (and Eboue is world class at full back as his rating as the CL best full back in 2006 attests to) fighting for the place?

Don't ask me why he's playing RM; only Wenger knows why he persists.

Firstly mate i do know the people your talking about so don't put me in the toff category. secondly it is my opinion on him and if im honest i haven't really liked him from the start but thats just my opinion. i think we also havea better right back in sagna. one thing i get frustrated about eboue is he mad moments when he just lunges out or whatever i mean he does it at the wrong moments. And yeah i know he isn't a RM so why are we playing him there if he cant play there? Just my view on him

Exactly, some people must think that its easy to go from RB to RM. I cant think of any that would say Jamie Carragher, Micah Richards would make superb wingers. Even Cafu himself acclaimed for his tireless overlapping runs from defence had trouble in the RM position.

so yeh give him a break the fact he was even chosen to play winger last year is a testament to the quality of his runs and crosses from RB.
